Kontrolę pod kątem mikrobiologicznym i fizykochemicznym bezpośrednio w miejscu produkcji na Stacji Uzdatniania Wody w Gierszowicach prowadzi się codziennie. W praktyce oznacza to nie mniej ni więcej, iż badanych chemikaliów w naszych kranach po prostu nie znajdziemy. Akredytowane laboratorium analizujące brzeską wodę regularnie potwierdza fakt spełniania przez nią norm wody przeznaczonej do spożycia przez ludzi określonych w Rozporządzeniu Ministra Zdrowia z dnia 7 grudnia 2017 r. w sprawie jakości wody przeznaczonej do spożycia przez ludzi (Dz.U. 2017 poz. 2294).

W środowiskach zajmujących się produkcją (uzdatnianiem) wody coraz częściej pojawiają się głosy zwalczające zakorzenione w naszej świadomości mniemanie, jakoby woda z kranu nie nadawała się do bezpośredniego spożycia. Wpajane od dziecka przeświadczenie, że picie kranówki prowadzi do wytrącania się w organizmie kamienia, okazuje się przesądem. Akcję informacyjną na ten temat prowadziła już swego czasu m.in. spółka wodociągowa z Krakowa, która wręcz polecała picie kranówki zamiast modnych obecnie wód mineralnych.

Gdy przeanalizujemy, jak sprawa wygląda od strony kosztów, okaże się, iż rezygnacja z napoju butelkowego może prowadzić do dużych oszczędności. W dobie przytłaczających podwyżek jest to zawsze jakaś opcja. Pytanie jednak, czy walory smakowe wody kranowej na taką zamianę faktycznie pozwalają? Kranówka wszak smakuje jak… kranówka. Podkreślić należy jednak, iż jest w zupełności zdrowa. Gwoli ścisłości warto mieć na uwadze, że tam, gdzie woda używana jest rzadko i gdzie bardzo długo stagnuje w rurach, może dochodzić do wtórnego skażenia bakteriologicznego. Przy normalnym użytkowaniu jednak ryzyko takiego zdarzenia jest minimalne.
