Wyróżnienia, okolicznościowe przemówienia, pokaz sprzętu oraz defilada – tak wyglądały obchody Dnia Sapera, który rokrocznie obchodzony jest w połowie kwietnia.
W piątek (14.04) żołnierze otworzyli bramy garnizonu i zaprosili gości. Wśród nich byli emerytowani wojskowi, samorządowcy oraz młodzież ze szkół powiatu brzeskiego.
Uroczystości rozpoczęły się od złożenia wiązanek kwiatów pod pomnikiem poległych saperów. Następnym punktem ceremonii był okolicznościowy apel na głównym placu brzeskiego garnizonu. W trakcie uroczystości dowódca płk Grzegorz Oskroba wręczył awanse oraz okolicznościowe odznaki dla żołnierzy. Punktem kulminacyjnym była defilada pododdziałów brzeskiego pułku. Następnie saperzy częstowali grochówką oraz demonstrowali sprzęt będący na wyposażeniu jednostki.
W uroczystościach z okazji Święta Wojsk Inżynieryjnych wziął udział m.in. starosta brzeski Jacek Monkiewicz oraz wicewojewoda Tomasz Witkowski.
