Wystawa dostępna dla zwiedzających w dniach od 7 lipca do 1 sierpnia w Galerii Sztuki Współczesnej (BCK – I piętro).
O ARTYSTCE I JEJ SZTUCE:
Bożena Kurek-Di Maggio ukończyła studia wyższe na Accademia di Belle Arti w Bari (Włochy) oraz w Instytucie Sztuki Uniwersytetu Opolskiego. Jest pomysłodawczynią i organizatorką międzynarodowych plenerów na południu Włoch. Zajmuje się malarstwem sztalugowym. Na swoim koncie ma liczne wystawy zbiorowe, poplenerowe i personalne we Włoszech, Polsce, a także w Czechach. Jako edukatorka rozwoju przez sztukę prowadzi zajęcia plastyczne według własnego autorskiego programu (FB: Zajęcia plastyczne z panią Di Maggio).
ARTYSTKA O SOBIE:
Pochodzę z rodziny, w której mój ojciec miał hobby artystyczne: malował, rysował, grał na skrzypcach, prowadził chór na 4 głosy, grał w teatrze amatorskim. Skończyłam szkołę muzyczną 1 stopnia w Krapkowicach, klasa akordeonu oraz szkołę muzyczną 1 stopnia w Opolu, klasa śpiewu solowego. Równolegle uczęszczałam do Ogniska Plastycznego w Opolu, gdzie moim pierwszym nauczycielem malarstwa był Zbigniew Krygiel, a rzeźby Adolf Panitz. Ostatecznie wybrałam sztuki plastyczne z obawy stania się puszystą śpiewaczką operową. Studiowałam na Accademia di Belle Arti w Bari, mieście królowej Bony Sforzy. Mieszkałam w Taranto, gdzie organizowałam międzynarodowe plenery malarskie i pomagałam w pracy mężowi – architektowi wnętrz. Wraz z przyjściem na świat moich dzieci postanowiłam zorganizować zajęcia plastyczne dla okolicznych dzieci, mając na względzie rozwój przez sztukę dla mojej córki i syna. Zamierzony przeze mnie efekt okazał się nieprzewidziany. Moje dzieci z zazdrości o inne nie brały udziału w zajęciach, a ja natomiast odkryłam w sobie misję edukatorki przez sztukę, umiejącą uwalniać w dzieciach ich potencjał i poznawanie własnej wartości. Czuję się osobą spełnioną, widząc moją córkę Adelaide i syna Mark Fryderyka jako osoby bardzo promienne, które wykształciły w sobie charyzmatyczne osobowości dzięki obcowaniu ze sztuką (i z rodzicami artystami).
