Pierwsza połowa sobotniego starcia była wyrównana. Obie strony mozolnie budowały swoje ataki pozycyjne, a sytuacji bramkowych było jak na lekarstwo. W ekipie brzeżan najbliżej trafienia był Maksymilian Podgórski. Wydawało się, że żółto-niebiescy dowiozą bezbramkowy remis do przerwy, a po zmianie stron powalczą o komplet punktów. Niestety w 41. minucie daliśmy się zaskoczyć. Długa piłka za linię obrony dotarła do Jana Borka, który przelobował Brzozowskiego i otworzył rezultat.
Drugą połowę Stalowcy rozpoczęli z dużym impetem i ewidentnym zamiarem odwrócenia wyniku. Niestety żadnej z akcji nie udało się zakończyć golem, a co gorsza łatwo daliśmy się wypunktować zespołowi z Goczałkowic. Już w 69. minucie mogło być 2:0, lecz rzut karny wykonywany przez zawodnika biało-niebieskich obronił Dominik Brzozowski. Nie minęło jednak 120 sekund, a miejscowi podwyższyli rezultat. Po stałym fragmencie gry i dośrodkowaniu w naszą szesnastkę w zamieszaniu najlepiej odnalazł się Szymała, kierując piłkę do siatki. W 79. minucie było już „po zawodach”. Podopieczni Łukasza Piszczka rozprowadzili szybką kontrę, którą golem na 3:0 wykończył Michał Nadolski. Rozmiary porażki zdołał zmniejszyć w 81. minucie Dominik Bronisławski, pewnie wykonując rzut karny podyktowany za faul na Mateuszu Dychusie.
