Międzynarodowy turniej carrom na brzeskim zamku

W sobotę (4 marca) w Muzeum Piastów Śląskich odbył się International Carrom Tournament in Brzeg, czyli międzynarodowy turniej w carrom.

Carrom to gra bilardowa (nazywana czasami indyjskim bilardem) rozgrywana na kwadratowym stole i polegająca na wbijaniu drewnianych krążków do łuz za pomocą strikera. Zawodnicy grają w pozycji siedzącej. Celem gry jest wbicie przez zawodnika wszystkich krążków swojego koloru, zanim przeciwnik wbije swoje.

W carrom gra się od około dwustu lat, chociaż gry o podobnych zasadach tylko innych nazwach znane są na świecie od tysięcy lat. Nie do końca wiadomo, skąd dokładnie pochodzi carrom. Większość źródeł wskazuje, że jest to gra indyjska, chociaż niektórzy uważają, że pochodzi ona z Chin.

Turniej, który odbył się w Brzegu w sobotę, został zorganizowany przez Polskie Stowarzyszenie Carrom. W zawodach rywalizowali ze sobą zawodnicy niemal z całego globu, ale co ciekawe… w finale spotkało się dwóch reprezentantów Polski.

Gościem specjalnym imprezy był Kartikey Johri – Konsul Honorowy Republiki Indii.
